Where are you located, can I visit your studio?
We are located in the Durham Region of Ontario, and offer consultations by appointment only. We rely on email contact to discuss prelimary ideas, feel free to send us a note with any questions you have and we strive to reply promptly. No we do not have a storefront for clients to visit daily.
Do you offer delivery and setup?
Delivery is $50.00-$80.00 depending on location in the Greater Toronto Area. Venues outside our regular delivery area will incur an additional fee. Free pick up of average cakes is available for our local clients, and we strive to pack them securely to ensure they arrive in good condition while in your vehicle.
*Occasionally we will strongly recommend you hire our delivery service especially if your cake is of an unusual size/shape and requires special handling by our experienced staff. If you do chose to pick up the cake we are not responsible for it's safe arrival to its destination once it's beyond our doors.
Free Pick Up is available for our local clients.
How much are your Wedding/Celebration cakes?
A custom price quote can be given only after you've choose the style, details and number of portions to suit your event. The kind of custom cakes I do often requires: Research, Planning, and Time. Cakes are priced by the time I estimate I will need to do the complete the project, not only by it's size or the number of portions it will provide. Wedding cakes that require hand made Sugarflowers or other elaborate details may incur additional fees. Again, each design is custom priced once the final details are decided. Most of our Wedding & Celebration cakes start at $5.00 per portion. Please note: Our minimum order of $80.00.
All Special Occasion cakes start at a $60.00 minimum.
But I only want a small birthday cake to serve 10 or 15 ppl.
Yes since our minimum is $80.00, even a birthday cake to serve 10 ppl would start at $80.00
I want a Carved/3D Cake!
We love unusual requests and strive to accommodate them! However these types of cakes come at a higher price point because of the many hours of labour, specialized support systems and high level of skill required.They generally start at $200.00 and go up. Extreme elements such as lights and sound cards can also be added to embellish the design if the overall design allows for it safely.
I want a 3D figurine on top of my celebration cake.
We can hand form all types of custom figures/ toppers to place on top of cakes such as cute animals, cartoony human figures or familiar children's characters. Each is custom priced according to complexity. These items are generally made from edible materials but with plastic internal supports and so are not meant to be eaten. They can be removed and saved to be enjoyed as a momento of the special day.
What size are the wedding cake portions?
Our wedding cake portion charts are estimated on : 1 inch x 2 inches by 4 inches high. They are the perfect size as an addition to a sweet table or with late night coffee service. If you plan on serving the cake as your plated dessert course , please ask for those specific sizing charts.
I need cupcakes and a Cupcake Stand?
Our cupcakes start at $3.00 each and are custom priced according to decoration style required. We do have custom sized lightweight cupcake stands available for sale. We do not rent them.
Can I have Buttercream instead of Fondant on the outside of my cake?
Yes, we do offer our special stable Buttercream Frosting as an outer covering as an alternative to fondant. Please note that Buttercream cannot duplicate the matte finish of fondant and that many decorative elements may not be able to be duplicated in buttercream.
I want Whipped Cream/Mousse and/or Fresh berries in my cake.
We do not offer Whipped Cream , Mousse or Fresh berries as fillings. These delicate fillings cannot safely withstand sitting at room temperature for the duration of a reception event. Most of our cakes are filled with Italian Meringue Buttercream which can be flavoured with fruit purees, chocolate and other custom flavors. *Ganache Filling is an additional fee per tier.
I want Red Velvet, Hummingbird or another flavour not listed.
The flavours listed on our site are the classic flavours we offer. You are welcome to mix and match cake flavours and buttercream combinations. And Yes, you may choose a different flavour for each tier.
How far in advance can I request a date?
We do limit the number of projects we do each due to the attention to detail we give each project. For weddings we prefer a minimum of 3-6 months lead time, the norm being 8-10 months. However all last minute requests are welcome and will be considered based on our schedule.
Is a deposit required to hold my date?
Yes, dates are not held without a non refundable deposit . We do not accept deposits until the details of the cake are full discussed and decided. If your cake is a Last Minute request , we do accept immediate deposits through online banking sent via email money transfer for your convenience. Full payment for Wedding cakes is required 14 days prior to the event.
I have a picture of the cake that I love from a magazine/website . Can you make it exactly like the picture?
Photos are an excellent way to share your ideas. We do take inspiration from other cake photos, but exact duplication is never possible. Some magazine photos aren't real cake at all! We can however design a very similar styled cake incorporating the features that you love, thus creating your unique and perfect cake. Every couple deserves their own custom styled cake for their special day.
I want Fresh Flowers placed on my cake.
W We can offer "just the cake" ready to be adorned by your own Florist at the reception. Unfortunately we do not offer the service of providing or arranging fresh flowers. The specialized skills of delicate flower arranging just as you wouldn't ask your Florist to bake your cake.
I need a fake cake decorated to look like real cake.
We do offer "faux" cakes custom decorated to your specifications. Either the whole cake or just a tier or two to give the impression of a larger cake. Please keep in "faux" cakes still require all the same outer icing ingredients , time and skill required as a real cake.
I need an additional 100 cake portions to serve a large number of guests.
We do offer sheet cakes to supplement the number of portions required provided a wedding cake is also ordered from us. Email us for a cost estimate based on portion size.
Do you offer consultations and samples?
OWe do offer complimentary consultations booked according to our schedule to discuss ideas and details only for cakes over 100 servings or $400.00 If you wish to sample a flavour, we offer one small single flavour tasting cake for a fee of $25.00 which will be credited towards the balance of your signed booking. This tasting cake is freshly baked for you to your custom specifications to allow you to sample our quality and flavour. If you wish to sample any of our other cake flavours we recommend you enquire about purchasing an additional small cake in that flavour for an additional fee.
I need Custom Decorated Cookie favours and /or Mini cakes.
We do offer cookies, mini cakes and other creative edible favors. Each is individually priced according to details required. Cookies start at $3.00 each. Single Tier Mini Cakes start at $8.00 each. Packaging may incur additional costs. Maximum and minimum numbers may apply.
I need a Nut free/Gluten Free/Egg/Dairy Free cake.
We do NOT offer any nut free products, nor any special dietary restricted products. We love butter and sugar and use them generously!
